BEFORE INSTALLATION
The
sub floor must be dry. Measure always with adequate test instruments.
Moisture content limits: moisture content of cement
screed/concrete must be
< 2% CM (CM method ) and of anhydrite cement floors (Calcium sulphate screed)
< 0.5% CM.
The sub floor must be even.
Irregularities >3mm/m (DIN 18202 Zeile 4) or 2 mm over 2m must be leveled
accordingly.
The sub floor must be firm, sound and
clean.
Laminate flooring can be installed on low temperature
water based underfloor heating system with a max. 28°C/82.4°F surface
temperature.
For detailed instructions on the installation of laminate
flooring on top of underfloor heating systems, please contact your
supplier.
Please note that laminate flooring is not suitable for
laying on top of electrical under floor heating (controlled through
surface temperature) and carpeting.
Explanations and restrictions
to the use of underfloor heating systems:
Laminate flooring is
suitable for installation on top of underfloor heating systems provided that the
heating element is embedded into concrete orany other sub floor.
Laminate
flooring is not suitable for installation on top of underfloor heating
foil installed on top of concrete or any other sub floor unless
otherwise specified by the underfloor heating manufacturer.
Surface temperature should never exceeds 28°C/82.4°F.
Standard electrical underfloor heating foil systems can usually reach a surface
temperature of more than 28°C/82.4°F when turned up at maximum running
temperature, which makes them not suitable as sub floors for laminate
flooring.

BASIC INSTALLATION TIPS
A min.
0.2mm ageing resistant damp-proof PE foil shall be installed over all sub
floors, except over wooden floor/construction. Overlap seam edges 20 cm min and
tape entire length of seam with duct tape.
Sound insulation material must
be installed. Use 2mm TarkettFoam ( art.nb LATFOAM/8021000) over a PE-plastic
foil or use Tarkett 3mm SoundBlock combi-foam (art.nb LATSBFOAM/8267000).
Tarkett 3mm SoundBlockfoam combines PE foil and foam for damp & sound
proofing. A 0.2mm PE foil is thus not necessary.Butt seam edges
together.
Never install sound insulation material under laminate
flooring featuring an integrated soundproofing underlay. Important: the
sound integrated underlayer does not replace the 0.2mm PE
foil!
Laminate flooring should always be laid to a floating
configuration (e.g. the boards should never be fixed to the sub floor
in any way)
Boards should be staggered by a minimum of 300
mm.
Allow for an expansion gap of 8-10mm between the flooring and any
fixed structure (wall, pipes, door jambs…)
In corridors and rooms longer
and/or wider than 10 meters, expansion provision should be allowed for and
covered with a matching transition profile.

INSTALLATION : Install the planks
lengthways in the direction of the daylight, taking into account the layout of
the room.
Last row: if the planks of the last row are too wide,
position the plank to install exactly on top of the row before last. Position a
second overlapping plank not forgetting distance spacers. Trace the contour of
the wall thus obtained & saw along the line.
FINISHING: Carefully remove the distance spacers.
PIPES: Measure the pipes. Mark out their position and
dimensions on the plank. Cut out a hole (diameter of the pipe + 16-20mm). Saw
the plank at a 45° angle to the holes. Position & adjust the cutting for an
accurate fitting around the pipes.
For best results, follow the installation instructions use the tools and
accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

AFTER INSTALLATION
Felt covers
should be fixed to furniture legs
Heavy furniture should be lifted, not
dragged
Furniture and chairs with castors should be of the “soft”
castor-type.
Never wet-clean the flooring, never use abrasive cleaning
materials, do not wax or sand the flooring.
